Kodagu ‘loses’ Somwarpet

MADIKERI ­­­–– The President of India has approved the recommendation of delimitation panel in Kodagu. This means the district will lose Somwarpet constituency, and will have only two constituencies ­­-- Madikeri and Virajpet. Somwarpet will be merged with Madikeri and Virajpet constituencies. A change is brought about in the parliament constituency also. The Kodagu–Mangalore constituency will now become Kodagu–Mysore constituency. (Source: Shakthi)
