MADIKERI: A Kodava book on Hindu religious text Bhagavad Gita was released at the Town Hall here on Sunday. The function was organised by the Department of Kannada and Culture and the Madikeri station of All India Radio.
Though the guests lent an official touch to the book release, it was the large number of children dressed as Krishna who actually released the book, much to the delight of its author Nagesh Kaloor and others present.
Boverianda Chinnappa and his wife Nanjamma, who are known for their research works, inaugurated the function. Ms. Nanjamma recalled the mention of Bhagavad Gita in “Balopat” (Kodava folklore) contained in a book written by her grandfather the late Nadikerianda Chinnappa. (more)
