the host's dress on the golden chariot was indeed a caricature of our traditional attire and the "mock weddings" just shows how slow we are at reacting to insults.
Slow in the sense, it has taken us decades to realise the importance and meaning of Jamma land,
the sale of our ancestorial lands to outsiders is going to make a vast majority of kodavas tourists to their hometowns, HOMESTAYS - i guess the idea of having a low cost resort in the estate is better than allowing a complete stranger stay at your home,
and the recent delimitation of constituencies to two shows that in time we have decreased in number ... the next step that may be taken in the near future is merging of madikeri with another district and merging of virajpet with hunsur..
only then will we kodavas wake up and cry out that we have lost our native identity..
these are a few issues that we must react to quickly
this is a personal take on the issues .. please do share your views !!
