Which to me does not matter. Golf course for whom ? Unless tournaments are held and that fuels the local economy else a helipad - Course does not matter.
even the cabbies - I have my own doubts if a Kodava will let his ego and take up a role of a cabbie - else we will find another load of migrants hanging in Madikeri.

i agree....does not help coorgs....
disagree.golfcourse is sumthing nice 2 b preserved or can be converted in 2 sumthing else,4 which it can be used frequently.may b a play ground,running track, park,kids play area etc.i doubt the maxmm utility of the place thru out yr if converted as helipad.helipad cn take sum other place & how many helicopters land in coorg in a yr.
2ndly comments 4 CPN. i think u'wer refrng to 'caddy' nt 'cabbie'.i dnt think tht place cn be usd 4 golf,however if it is used,nothing wrong in sumbody becoming a caddy.it is an high profile job(unlike in tata cofi golf course where labourers work as caddy).who knows 1 day a caddie may becom a famous golfer.b-sides dont we need 2 hv dignity of labour.thr r many of us who may want a job n ths kinda comments might demotivate us 2 earn our living.there r many who may not be able 2 pursue Xth or XIIth v might need a part time job which might help us 2 complete the eduction.ofcourse a community shud prosper & every1 shud be in a decent jobs,but isn’t it little overboard 2 comment on ‘ego 2 bcom caddie/cabbie(whatever).coorg has many resorts n hotels n already thr r many who r letting their ego 2 take rest n earning their living(working in housekeeping,being security,stewards etc.)
now about the migrants:- thr r infinite people who migrate different urban areas for opportunity/earning across nation/globe ( like cari in muscat, me in bangalore, musician biddu in abroad & likewise migrants in coorg) .I feel it is some1s right 2 migrate 2 a place which gives enough opportunity 2 earn / better the living if that place has no rule 2 oppose /block migrants or at the least it is some1s constitutional right 2 work n live any whr in india ( except 4 Kashmir ).

will not disagree that Caddy is a high profile job , infact every job taken professionally is high profile. My experience with Golf Course / Caddy -> look at Wellington [ ooty ] OR Blore - The folks who work there are Locals , they earn their money and get drunk that's all . As long as it is managed well everything is fine - but we have often seen that once out of a Golf course - then even if debris are littered out of their fence no one is bothered.
As far the comment of Golf course being opened up - again - this will never happen - this will belong to the Rich and be open only to the affiliated clubs of the country.
My uncle who worked and retired as Works manager will never be allowed to step inside this course[ and deep inside , to me atleast it hurts]
All your above comments make sence,but the consern is let the locals of the place be given the preference in small or any job,in kodag,reson being that will to some extent give the milage required to maintain the place with its uniqueness,because it gives and they are the ones who hold the identity of the place and oppurtunity should be shouldered to them.
