Tourism Industry is really helping people of Coorg.. Atleast people from outside recognize Coorg as a tourist place rather an "place of Drunkards".
See wts the use if we earn highest revenue for Kar Gov thru liquor. Its our money which is going out.
If outsiders come n invest or tourists come and spend here, we'r the once who get benefited...
I feel instead of we guys fighting like can raise voice against use of plastic and to bring railway to COORG...

What do you mean ? so outside investments will help create job and improve quality of life ? who can gaurantee that ?. Wasn't Kodagu the highest money earner for the state , the second earner was the Liquor trade for Karnataka.
Now , What did the Govt do at that time? nothing , and therefore the claim for a separate statehood came up. At least the request was to ensure that the admin be given to the locals - else Govt officers would make money and loot the dist.

So really , Investments will not get you quality of life or create more jobs.

Tho they might good adminstrators or not,the fact is they are not blueblooded or they are not the natives of kodag and have got into kodag begging for food and they took advantage of the situation with there crucade mind and with an intition that means they have cheated the people such people should never be allowed to ventur back into kodag first and foremost the other important thing to note is that what proof they have got which tells these veerasivas in kodag that those people who claim there where from the same family as the adminstrators of kodag,all bullshit first and foremost that veerasiva community people should be thought how to be liveing in kodag and not try to mong for power by these idiotic means,secondly i have been hearing a lot about mahadevappa,i think this person who is representating there community needs to mend his ways in kodag.First he questioned about gun previlage,second elections.now he has dared to bring these unwanted people claiming that they are the 5th generaton of kodag admin and hypeing it up in kodag,surprising no one is taking notice of this prick,i think he needs to be monitored in kodag.

Thanks Hidalgo,also to add these people where more liable to locals than any other kings in india.so they are more of a adminstrators in kodag then as kings, also they are the once who started dividing kodag into lot many naads just to get into kodag and take the power from the innocent locals who where just ignorent hillman and women,who where led by diffrent palayagars,in diffrent nad with there own laws and rules.for which i still have the proof and books written by the british general who captured kodag not only that its clearly written when the kodavas did stop the venturing british army and killed 300 british army men, when british ventured kodag with an army of 60000men from each side and he has mentioned the brvery of all the local people of
kodag in that war.

1) Yes nobody can change the history
2) Yes Haleri kings were the kings of coorg for good 250 -300 years ( I am too lazy to get the exact data for u,however if you prefer, i shall mention that here)
3)The Chikkaveera Rajendra was ousted because he was bad ruler out of 4 - 5 generation of Haleri kings before him + Brits wanted a official entry in to coorg which was a very vital geographical area( politically, commercially and in terms of military advantage)
4)Yes Haleri kings came as Sanyasi/Jangama and overtook entire Kodagu ( like East India Co became Brit Empire;but can we call brits as mere traders??)
5) Its a plain truth that,whether brits chased other kings or not and how did brits took over entire India( except few princely states which were paying the taxes/royalty or whatever to brits )
6) When Chikkaveera rajendra was ousted he was moved to Banaras and was under house arrest with a financial courtesy from brits for a long long time and later he migrated to UK with his fav daughter Gouramma who got baptised to christianity as Victoria Gouramma and married a brit officer.And Chikka Veera rajendra spent his final years in UK ( Now you can imagine the courtesies extended to a chased out King).

Its hard to digest that Kodagu was ruled Haleri Kings for 250 - 300 years.But its true.The earlier rulers were extremely popular,but the last king had notorious stories to his credit.Even then it was difficult for few citizens to switch loyalty from Haleri Kings & Brits.

well mate not changing history, but the truth is they might be the decendents of janjama(Pious Saint) of kodag who took advantage of the sitution prevaling in kodag those days,and was not a king but an able adminstrator whom the locals brought him up for kodag, and was chased away when locals found was not sutiable to be in the position given to him.there was a upriseing against him and was chased away by locals in which the british mediated.i have the authentic proof of this migrant sanyasi who came to kodag in 16th century.and with authenticy i shall tell they are beggers who came to kodag begging and in no way they ruled kodag,if they would have ruled they whould have not been chased out by the locals,if british did why did british did not chase other kings in india from there place,why only in kodag and the last lady of their family gourama was baptised in england and married a british general.there was noone els this is i feel a mokery done by the veerashivas in kodag against other communities of kodag.
